Five students graduating from the Art/Digital Media Studies program this Fall will be showcasing their work in senior exhibits starting November 15th through December 7th at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Gallery.  Because of the number of graduates, there will be a rotation of three shows in the gallery during that time.  This gives the opportunity for the artists to mount a professional exhibition of a complete body of work that showcases a cohesive portfolio in the field of study the student intends to focus on upon graduation.

The first show, from November 15th-18th will be a solo exhibition of the work of Micheal Ruiz Jr., who paints figures from the world sports in unique and thoughtful ways.  The second exhibition runs from November 21st through the 29th and will feature Angelica Carlisle and Meghan Dahlke.  Angelica’s work will feature her digital illustrations that deal with the nature of place, while Meghan’s research is in the field of art therapy.  The third and final exhibit runs from November 30th-December 7th and will feature two digital media majors Kenneth Lowery and Alex Adame. Kenneth will be displaying his graphic design work, while Alex will be showing her work that represents a modern day retelling of classic fairy tales.

Senior advisor and art professor Chris Ireland states, “the art department is proud of its seniors and the diversity of the types of research our students are doing this year.  The seniors have worked very hard in getting their work ready to for these exhibitions and I think you will see in each senior a signature style and creative approach to their craft. They are self-motivated and engaged in their fields at a professional level.  “
