Tarleton Art Society meeting Thursday 9/15th

Tarleton Art Society will be having their first informational meet Thursday, September 15th at 12:15 in FA 162.

Tarleton Game Club Meeting 9/14

This year’s Game Club interest meeting will be held this next Wednesday, September 14 at noon in room 162 of the Fine Arts building.
We will be discussing what time we wish to *set this semester’s meetings* to and also provide information as to what the Game Development club is and what goals we may wish to have for the semester.
Pizza will be provided and the meeting should not last beyond 1 PM. If you have any comments or questions a good way to reach me would be to message me here on facebook or find me on campus.

This Weekend: Fort Worth Gallery Night


The Fort Worth Art Dealer’s Association (FWADA) invites you to take-in the visual arts and our community’s unique cultural richness during Fall Gallery Night, September 10, 2016. Most participants are open from noon to nine. Come take a stroll through participating galleries, museums, retail businesses, and area restaurants, and enjoy the many artists featured during this community event. Local based design company Twisted J is hiring two positions.  The following is from the job description…
1 to help run our Commercial Embroidery machines and 1 to help with our Screen Printing department making Tees!

Experience is Preferred but NOT necessary-We will Train!

Both Jobs Require:
Fast Paced Environment
Willing to learn new things and help where needed
Computer Literate
Self Motivated and willing to take initiative.

Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

Embroidery Department:(Full Time)
-Digitizing Logos
-Hooping and running each garment
-Setting up machine for each job
-Cleaning and oiling machines
-Routine simple maintenance
-Trimming and cleaning of each garment
-Folding and bagging of garments
-Keeping work area clean and tidy
-Updating team on project status

Screen Printing Department:( Full or Part)
-Aligning designs in machines
-Putting and Taking off garments
-Folding & Counting Tees
-Washing Out screens
-Mixing New Inks
-Preparing the screens and machine for the next jobs.

Focus Gallery Two: In Vitro: New Works by Molly Valentine Dierks

September 10 – October 22, 2016

Reception: FWADA Fall Gallery Night, Saturday September 10, 2016; 6 – 9pm

Molly Valentine Dierks explores the expanding field of sculpture through her work across media (performance, installation, and digital media). Dierks received her BA in Behavioral Psychology from Dartmouth College, a Postbaccalaureate degree in Sculpture and Extended Media from Virginia Commonwealth University, and her MFA in Art and Design from the Penny W. Stamps School of Art and Design at the University of Michigan. She has participated in exhibitions nationally (including in New York City, Detroit, and Los Angeles) and internationally (Japan, South Africa). Her work has been included in exhibitions by such prestigious institutions as the Musem of Contemporary Art Detroit, University of Michigan Museum of Modern Art, and Kunsthalle Detroit Museum of Contemporary Art. Dirks’ sculptures and installations have been featured in Southern Magazine, the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit’s ‘Post Industrial Complex’, the University of Michigan’s site on digital media artists, and the Czong Institute for Contemporary Art’s Art Yellow Book.
