The Department of Fine Arts is pleased to showcase the work of seven graduating seniors during the Fall 2015 Senior BFA Exhibition Series, on display at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Gallery from November 2nd to December 8th.   This group of seniors includes students who are receiving their BFA in Studio Art along with the graduates of the interdisciplinary Digital Media Studies degree program. Because of the number of graduates, there will be a rotation of six exhibitions in the gallery during that time.  This gives the opportunity for the artists to mount a unique and professional exhibition of a complete body of work that showcases a cohesive portfolio in the field of study the student intends to focus on upon graduation.

The first show, from November 2nd-5th will feature an installation of photography and text by Brandie N. Smith. The second exhibition runs from November 6th-11th and will feature the photographic landscape work of Jordan Gilbert. The third exhibit, running from November 12-17th, will feature the illustration of Sheena Dorton.  Our fourth exhibit runs from November 18th-23rd and will feature the digital media design of Dalton Rains and Skylar Rhodes.  The fifth exhibit, which runs November 24th to December 2nd, will feature the works of painter Karissa Clay. And the last exhibit will feature the work of Aaron Casey and will be on display from December 3rd to the 8th.

Senior capstone advisor and art professor Chris Ireland states, “the senior exhibition is unique among many of the exhibits seen during the year at the TSU gallery.  Great work will be going up for a couple days and will be replaced in a few days by more great work.  It is an exciting time to be in the building as their will always be new and challenging work to talk about.”

Each senior is required to participate in an oral defense of the work that is open to the public.  These will usually take place on selected Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the month of November.
