BFA Senior Exhibition – Blu Dornan and Heather Weeks

The Department of Fine Arts presents the fourth BFA exhibition featuring Blu Dornan and Heather Weeks.  The exhibit will run from November 18th – 20th  in the Gallery of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center.  The artists will be speaking about their work at a brown bag lecture on Tuesday, November 18th at 12 noon in the TSU Gallery.

Multimedia artist Blu Dornan describes his BFA capstone exhibition entitled Finding My Voice…an Exploration of Portraiture as, “the personal journey of expression within the creation of portraits, through various art media and genres.  The search for how and why to present a portrait a particular way plays a significant role in the accurate depiction of its character.”

Painter Heather Weeks descibes her series Drips and Splatters as, “a bright and playful exploration of color. The works are not meant to represent any subject but images can be seen in them, similar to seeing images in the clouds. Vivid color blends together on the canvas to create unique images where each pool of color is important. For the artist, these works represent the in between period between being awake and lapsing into dream. “

All Art and Digital Media majors are required to give a public presentation of their work during their Senior Exhibit.  There will be a Q and A  from faculty and students, are all welcome to attend.  The lecture will be Tuesday, November 18th, at noon in the Fine Arts Gallery.  This event is free and open to the public
